✓Licensed drivers
Drivers hold valid, up-to-date driving licences and Professional Driving Permits (PrDPs), renewed in accordance with South African legal requirements.
✓Insured vehicles
Vehicles are insured and maintained according to their roadworthy requirements and planned service schedules.
✓Age-appropriate seating
Seat belts, car seats and booster seats are used according to each child’s needs.
✓Extra supervision
A nanny can travel along when additional support is needed.
✓Approved handovers
Younger children are handed to an approved adult or taken safely into class according to the family’s instructions.
⌖Live tracking
Live journey tracking is planned for registered parents through the private KIM Cabs App, coming in 2027.
✓Emergency procedure
During a breakdown or emergency, children remain supervised, families are kept informed and our administrator can attend as an authorised backup driver with replacement transport where practical.

Each family receives a dedicated WhatsApp group for service updates.

Planning your transport.
Helpful information for families booking regular or once-off lifts.
What ages do you transport?
We transport children of any age. Car seats and booster seats are available, and a nanny can accompany the journey when needed.
How far in advance should I book?
Ideally, bookings should be made at least 72 hours in advance so that routes, vehicles and drivers can be planned properly.
How do I report an absent child?
Please notify KIM Cabs through the dedicated family WhatsApp group created for your service.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made less than three hours before the scheduled pickup are billed in full.
When and how are payments made?
Payment is due upon receipt of invoice. Fixed clients are invoiced monthly on the 25th. Ad hoc lifts must be paid in advance according to the invoice.
How is pricing calculated?
Pricing is calculated from Rosebank, our vehicle depot, and depends on the route, distance, frequency and service required.
Are airport transfers available outside school hours?
Yes. Airport transfers can be arranged outside normal school hours.
Can I book a once-off lift?
Yes. Once-off and ad hoc transport can be booked, subject to availability and advance planning.
